Public relations

Public relations

The backbone of many of our communications campaigns, our PR experts will help you build awareness of your brand using national and regional television, radio and newspapers in addition to all-important trade media. Our experienced PR team know exactly how to go about telling your brand's story to the right people at the right time - and our strong journalistic skills continue to be at the heart of effective tactical PR.

Insight, consultation and engagement

Insight, consultation and engagement

We measure, we research and we monitor. We believe that before speaking, we should first listen. In that way, we understand what people think, how they react, what they'd like to hear – and how they'd like to hear it. It’s a strategic approach that translates intelligence into communication and engagement. We believe we’re one of the few consultancies to deliver in this way in the Midlands.

Social media

Social media

Social media is PR - or it's certainly a critical element of it. With the potential for negative sentiment to go viral in the blink of an eye, brands can no longer rely solely on positive media coverage to protect their reputation. But social media isn't a threat; it's an opportunity to build networks of friends and advocates and show the world your brand's human side. We'll get you in front of the right digital audience and show you how to monitor and measure success.

Creative, design and branding

Creative, design and branding

Design is an integral part of our communications mix. Whether it is online or in print, a website or a brochure, good creative design will always stand out. So too with brand development – which is why we have developed several innovative techniques to enable organisations to help build an effective, distinctive brand.

About Clarke Associates

Clarke Associates comprises a team of accomplished and award-winning public relations and communications specialists, who are expert at sparking compelling conversations about brands across traditional and digital media platforms.

Operating across the West Midlands, the UK and with worldwide contacts, we have a near 30-year track record for delivering successful PR and marketing communications campaigns on behalf of clients in professional financial services, inward investment and regeneration, consumer, leisure, health, housing and membership organisations. Communications and PR have changed immensely since we began our journey using typewriters, word processors and fax machines, but the principle remains the same: organisations and companies that have a good reputation, are admired and communicate well with their audiences will always achieve growth.

We enable our clients to engage creatively and effectively across a range of platforms and in a range of languages – wherever they are in the world. We open doors, create relationships, engage and enthuse. We always go the extra mile, working with our clients to ensure their objectives are met. To help you understand what we’re really about, we’ve put together a series of questions and answers about our approach.

Why do I need public relations advice? Aren’t newspapers and traditional media becoming less influential because of social media?

Whilst print circulation has declined online visits to newspaper websites are increasing. What’s more, the print media is embracing social media to very good effect. Media outlets play a huge role in shaping public perception and in our expert opinion they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

At Clarke Associates, we combine our knowledge of what makes a good yarn – what is newsworthy – with our excellent contacts across the media industry to help ensure our clients’ press releases get a good hearing. We have open and frank conversations with journalists about how our clients’ agendas fit with the news agenda. By taking this approach we have consistently secured significant coverage in national and regional newspapers and on television and radio.

Social media seems quite scary and time-consuming but it seems important. How can I build a presence on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn safely and focus on running my business at the same time?

With so many channels available it can be difficult to know where to start, how often to post and what to post about. But as seasoned communications practitioners, social media offers another platform from which to communicate with potential clients. Often it’s integrated with traditional public relations activity, but the principles remain the same across platforms.

With social media you have an opportunity to communicate with clients in a way that truly adds value. Whether it’s business to business or business to consumer, social media enables us to have creative and positive online interactions in a way that demonstrates impact to a wide audience of potential clients, whilst providing useful information.

As masters of the message, Clarke Associates’ social media experts will help you find the right tone of voice and project it in a way that leads to increased profile and new opportunities. We tailor our approach according to client needs. Whilst one might require strategic advice around channels and messaging, another will find benefit in handing content production over to the Clarke Associates team.
