OUR REGION

birmingham

Once upon a time, and not that long ago, Birmingham was best known for its industrial heritage and
Spaghetti Junction.

Though proud of its past, today Birmingham is a leading cosmopolitan city on the world stage. It is also Europe's youngest city with 37% of the population under 24.

It is a city unrecognisable from just a few years ago. Brummies, as Birmingham folk are called, are a fiercely proud bunch.

With Europe's busiest exhibition centre, a shopping offer second to none, great restaurants and nightlife, they have things to be proud of. It is a city boasting grand architecture, shopping streets free from traffic, the modern splendour of Brindleyplace, the new Bullring, the bars, the canal sides, the buzz - the list goes on.

The city is at the heart of a region packed with tourist attractions. Straford-upon-Avon is famous round the world. The Black Country nods to its industrial heritage whilst continuing to attract tourists, and the city is surrounded by stunning countryside. Birmingham is a great city at the heart of a great region, and the perfect place in which to live
and work.
